Meadow Ridge Set high atop a wooded ridge in historic Redding, Connecticut, with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, Meadow Ridge has been described by New York Magazine as "one of the finest continuing care retirement communities in the New York metropolitan area." Senior Care Development acquired the 136-acre parcel in 1998 and, with over $100 million of financing secured through international banking giant, BNP Paribas, began construction of its first phase under the special purpose entity named Redding Life Care LLC. Redding Life Care was soon confronted with several lawsuits by neighbors hoping to block development. After 24 months spent working through legal issues and negotiating with neighbors to make sure that all of their concerns were adequately addressed, we were able to prevail in court by demonstrating the quality of our master plan and its harmony with the land. We were also able to expedite the necessary applications, rigorous zoning board hearings, and entitlements, a process that usually takes an average of two years. As a result, in 2012, Meadow Ridge expanded and now offers more than 300 apartment homes and 20 assisted living apartments. And in 2017, the Community Center was renovated to add a new dining venue — The Bistro — to its residents’ dining options. All of which made the celebration of Meadow Ridge’s 10th anniversary in 2018 that much more meaningful to its more than 500 residents. Visit Meadow Ridge on the web: www.MeadowRidge.com. |
